Prenatal Muscle Therapy

While pregnancy is an exciting time, it can present unique physical challenges to a mother-to-be. With prenatal massage, the discomfort, circulatory, respiratory digestive, elimination and muscular or joint issues typically associated with pregnancy can be somewhat alleviated to promote a more relaxed and improved feeling of well-being. As performed by a trained prenatal massage therapist, treatment is adapted to the changes in a woman’s body and the challenges faced during each trimester.

While a calm and more relaxed mother-to-be is good for a baby’s in utero development, there is also some statistical evidence to suggest that regular prenatal massage plays a role in reducing delivery time, the need for epidural anesthesia or pain medications, and leads to fewer cesarean births.
